Coralie Chevallier received the Ordre National du Mérite

Coralie Chevallier is a researcher in cognitive science at the Laboratoire de Neurosciences Cognitives et Computationnelles of ENS-PSL. She co-directs the Evolution and Social Cognition team at the DEC and is Vice-President in charge of education at the Université Paris Sciences et Lettres.

This distinction is a reward for twelve years of service in her position. Amélie de Montchalin, Minister of Public Transformation and Civil Service, will present her with the insignia of Chevalier de l'Ordre National du Mérite at a ceremony to be held on April 6.

Coralie Chevallier is a behavioral scientist who studies the evolutionary and cognitive determinants of social cognition. She has been mainly interested in how motivational factors affect social cognition. More recently, she has been working on how stress, environmental harshness, and uncertainty influence a range of social and non-social decisions: prosociality and social trust, political attitudes and religion, health attitudes, fertility, and parenthood. The central hypothesis of his work is that environmental and motivational factors alter the minds of individuals in significant ways and should be targeted upstream to improve people's lives.
